Hot Dish gets a little leery when campaigns start to make up words with their candidate's names in them.

Who can forget when former U.S. Senate candidate Ann Wynia dubbed her campaign motorhome a "Wyniabago?"

DFL gubernatorial candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher's people are hoping to do a little better as they launch their three-day blitz to contact 60,000 primary voters, an effort they are calling MAKtion! (Think "action" that starts with "ma.")

The campaign wants to recruit thousands of volunteers to fan out over the weekend, when Kelliher is expected to release her first campaign commercial.

"We will win this campaign door-by-door, voter-by-voter," said Kelliher, the DFL endorsed candidate. "Our campaign's strong grassroots network is reaching voters one-by-one in a ground effort our opponents can't compete with. That's how you win a primary election in Minnesota."

The effort begins Friday when volunteers in 84 locations around the state hit the phones or begin door-knocking to reach all the targeted voters by Sunday.

"The grassroots momentum behind Margaret's campaign, combined with television, puts us in the best position to win in August and beat Tom Emmer in November," campaign manager Jaime Tincher said.
