Lord Jim

Once primarily a stoner comic, Jim Breuer shows he's all grown up (well, sort of) in "Jim Breuer: Comic Frenzy." The former "Saturday Night Live" cast member tackles such adult topics as taking care of the elderly, parenting teenagers and being a "marriage warrior," which, as it turns out, is a whole lot harder than surviving "Game of Thrones." 9 p.m. Friday, Epix.

The misfits

A lot of actresses have taken on Marilyn Monroe, but few have found the sweetness and tragic heart of the sex bomb like Kelli Garner does in "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe," a two-part movie based on J. Randy Taraborrelli's bestseller. Susan Sarandon plays the mother who shares her daughter's battles with inner demons. 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Lifetime

Everyone's a critic

Cat Deeley hosts the live broadcast of "The Critics' Choice Television Awards" with HBO's "Olive Kitteridge" and FX's "Justified" leading the charge. Walton Goggins is nominated for his work in both "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy." 7 p.m. Sunday, A&E

Whoa!

After 22 years of separation, Bill and Ted are about to have another excellent adventure. Alex Winter (Bill) is the director of the documentary "Deep Web" and he's recruited his old time-traveling buddy Keanu Reeves (Ted) to narrate. The film focuses on the underground Internet world of Silk Road and how the government may have violated laws to put a stop to drug trafficking. It's a fascinating, heady piece of work, despite the fact that there are no cameos from Napoleon or Genghis Khan. 7 p.m. Sunday, Epix
