Fasolamatt passes along this list from CBSSports.com of the 200 most popular names for fantasy baseball teams on the site.

Since we don't play fantasy baseball -- sorry, but the daily time requirement is just too much, as opposed to the more casual pace of fantasy football -- the list doesn't quite ring as true for us as it otherwise could. But there are some powerful lessons to be learned from even the top 10:

1Evil Empire
2Springfield Isotopes/Isotopes
3Chico's Bail Bonds
4Black Sox
5Bronx Bombers
6Yankees/New York Yankees
7Bombers
8Ball Busters
9Red Sox/Boston Red Sox
10Cubs/Chicago Cubs

Things to avoid when naming a fantasy team: "Clever" names that everyone else has already thought of; the exact name of your favorite team; one-word names that say nothing in particular; huh-huh, balls.

Things to covet when naming a fantasy team: Inside jokes based on other members of the league; innuendo that you need to work to catch; topical disparaging of same-sport stars (but only if it's clever).

Anyone else have bona fide things to do and not do when naming a fantasy team properly?
