The fair that has been a Minnesota staple since 1871 began on Wednesday with a 4-H horse show, parade, preteen talent show, music and carnival rides. The fair, which ends on Sunday, features family fun day on Thursday; senior citizens' day on Friday; fire safety day on Saturday; and All-American day on Sunday.
