My daily checks on the lone Sandhill Crane hanging out in a meadow west of our home have produced just the one bird, except today. There was a pair. I parked at a vantage viewing point, hoping to see courtship dancing. I missed that, as confirmed by what I did see -- the cranes mating. Sometimes the best thing you can be is lucky.
