The Gophers continue to list Mitch Leidner as out heading into Saturday’s game against Rutgers, with the senior quarterback still recovering from a concussion suffered against Iowa on Oct. 8.

Coach Tracy Claeys said Leidner has been cleared for light activity at Tuesday's practice. That's another step in the concussion protocol, with the medical staff monitoring each step to see if there's a recurrence of symptoms.

Claeys said he thinks it will be difficult for Leidner to progress far enough to play Saturday. On KFAN (100.3-FM), Claeys said it will be difficult, but "not impossible."

In Leidner’s place, Conor Rhoda made his first college start last week at Maryland and completed seven of 15 passes for 82 yards in the 31-10 victory.

"I expect it'll be Conor's game again [against Rutgers]," Claeys told KFN. "He did a great job last week."

The Gophers also list offensive tackle Jonah Pirsig (ankle) as out for the Rutgers game, but tackle Garrison Wright, who suffered a lower-leg injury at Maryland, is not on the injury report.

Claeys also said that linebacker Cody Poock (shoulder) has been cleared to practice.
