Trains chugged through these woods before Theodore Roosevelt became president, or so it appears from the rails yanked from the old Minnesota Zephyr line in the past few weeks. "My guess is that the track was built in the late 1800s or early 1900s," said Terry Peterson, president of Tie Yard of Omaha, the company hired to clear the way for a new Browns Creek State Trail leading from Stillwater. All the rails and ties will be recycled, he said.
