A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck northern Chile on Sunday morning. The centerof the quake was less than 100 miles from the port city of Arica and occurredaround 9:30, local time.There have been no initial reports of damages or injuries from this earthquake.

The earthquake was felt across the region causing widespread alarm after thenation's devastating earthquake that occurred on February 27th, 2010.
