Heavy rain and thunderstorms are dampening areas from the coastal Carolinasand eastern Georgia through central Florida today. There could be streetflooding in some areas as well as exacerbated river flooding. Travel delays arealso a concern.Drenching showers and locally gusty storms will develop over central Florida,especially during the afternoon. The strongest storms could produce some winddamage like downing tree branches and creating sporadic power outages.
Motorists who travel along I-75 and I-95 could encounter blinding downpoursthat slow traffic. There will also be flight delays and cancellations with therain and storms.
