The Minnesota Orchestra has an early holiday present for fans who missed its "Future Classics" concert of new works by up-and-coming composers: The Nov. 21 performance is available for free online, but only for this week. You can listen to streaming audio of the 78-minute program through Sunday at Minnesota Public Radio's Classical Music Site. The concert, conducted by Osmo Vänskä (pictured), featured works by Angel Lam ("In Search of Seasons"), Spencer Topel ("Incendio"), Roger Zare ("Aerodynamics"), Fernando Buide del Real ("Antiphones"), Kathryn Salfelder ("Dessin No. 1"), Carl Schimmel ("Woolgatherer's Chapbook") and Geoff Knorr ("Shadows of the Infinite") -- all part of the Composer Institute. MPR host Alison Young says the music "will tantalize and energize you, give you goose-bumps and beg for a second, third, or even more listenings -- but for one-week only."
