This spell of cold, wet weather has been tough on migrant birds already in the area. Species that feed on insects have had a particularly hard time finding sufficient food. A pair of Yellow-rumped Warblers has been feeding on sunflower chips at one of our feeders for the past two days. Warblers eat insects under better conditions. Warblers at a seed feeder is unusual.
