Neon lights bounced off the stark white gallery walls, transforming Walker Art Center into a party palace for the night. With the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden undergoing renovations, the annual Avant Garden fundraiser moved indoors. The change of venue didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the guests, who enjoyed drinks, dining and mingling — as well as a first look at the "Jack Whitten: Five Decades of Painting" exhibit. All proceeds from the event, which also included an art auction, support the Walker's artistic and educational programming.
