Kevin Rogers' absence from the coaching profession didn't last long. The Boston Globe and Herald are both reporting that the former Vikings quarterbacks coach will be named the new offensive coordinator at Boston College. The Globe reports that an official announcement is expected later today. Rogers joined the Vikings in 2006 after Brad Childress took over as coach and was with the team through this season. He was let go by new coach Leslie Frazier, who made several moves on the offensive side of the ball after having the interim label removed from his title a day after the season ended. Rogers has plenty of experience in the college game, including stops at Syracuse, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech. He coordinated the offense at both Syracuse and Notre Dame. Rogers' job with the Vikings was his first in the NFL. He will replace Gary Tranquill at Boston College.
