Minnesota Jewish Theatre has announced a new name for the company and dates for a hit from earlier this summer.

The company is now Six Points Theater, with a logo that echoes the six-point Star of David or "Jewish Star," and it has shifted from the "re" spelling of "theater" to "er." One thing that's not different, said producing artistic director Barbara Brooks: "We'll continue to share stories with you that reveal the common threads of humanity through a Jewish lens."

The 27-year-old theater's 2021-22 season kicks off with "A Pickle," the one-person play with Sally Wingert that sold out its entire May/June run. Wingert will perform the comedy, about a woman trying to get her kosher dills judged at the Minnesota State Fair, at a variety of outdoor spaces July 28-Aug. 15.

Also included in the season are "The People's Violin," a Charles Varon play about a director making a movie about a famous Jewish author who's also his father, holiday show "Chanukah in the Dark," a festival of three new play readings and Seth Rozin's dark comedy "Two Jews Walk Into a War."
