Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, has acquired Manna Freight Systems of Mendota Heights, a local, "final-mile" trucking company.
"Manna complements our existing strengths with additional expertise, services and tech solutions," said CEO Gordon Branov.
Terms were not disclosed.
Al Meehan, 61, Manna's founder decided it was time to retire after 27 years, and hired Aethlon Capital of Minneapolis to sell the company, according to Aethlon CEO Sima Griffith.
Manna has about 200 employees.
Pennsylvania-based Pilot said the integration of Manna is the next progression of Pilot's e-commerce platform, and will grow its domestic local, short-haul business from 71 to 83 locations.
