A drunk Texan led a sheriff's deputy on a chase early Sunday that reached 120 miles per hour until the suspect gave up, authorities said.

Authorities arrested Sergio H. Benavides, of the south Texas town of Edcouch, and booked him in the Kandiyohi County jail shortly before 5 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said.

Along with fleeing police, drunken driving and speeding, Benavides also is being held without bail on suspicion of having no driver's license. His 20th birthday was Friday.

Benavides was first spotted speeding about 3:10 a.m. on Hwy. 71 in northern Kandiyohi County, the Sheriff's Office said. Law enforcement caught up with him in Brooten, about 10 miles to the northwest, and made the arrest without incident.
