Sandhill Cranes nest throughout our suburban area. Seeing the cranes isn't hard. Seeing a nest is near impossible. The birds almost always choose sites in thick cattail marshes or other hidden places. This nest is on a Minnesota River backwater in Bloomington, invisible in plain sight unless someone points it out. These photos were taken Tuesday (May 20 morning.
