Yonis Awad, 14, left, and other students proudly posed for photos after graduating from the St. Paul Police Department's East and West African Junior Police Academy on Saturday. The students, who spent four weeks at the academy, learned how police officers do their job. Top photo: St. Paul officers joined in the celebration. About 35 young people got their diplomas after studying the K-9 Unit, disposal of explosives, defensive tactics, the crime lab, forensics, SWAT, the mounted patrol and much more.
