Dani Sadek, a defenseman, got a taste of playing in the state hockey tournament as an eighth-grader. She is eagerly awaiting a second trip to the Xcel Energy Center for the marque Class 2A event. Here is a closer look at Sadek:

The best movie I've seen in the last year: "Bridesmaids." I laugh every time I watch it.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod: "The Show Goes On" by Lupe Fiasco; "Work Out" by J. Cole; "Strange Clouds" by B.o.B.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me: Funny; outgoing; nice.

What is your favorite meal before a game? Noodles & Company. Me and a girl on my team, Ashley Kloncz, get Wisconsin Mac & Cheese the nights before games.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... pretty nervous. I think everyone has the jitters their first varsity practice because they have never been in that position before.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Lakeville South to go to state my eighth-grade year. That was pretty sick!

What were your goals entering the season? To make it to the state tourney.

If you could change one thing about high school hockey, what would it be? I would have high school hockey have shootouts instead of just keeping it as a tie. That would be sick and be entertaining for the fans.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... married with a major in business.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Be competitive, always do your best and have fun doing it.
