Minnesota Democrat Amy Klobuchar, who chairs a U.S. Senate antitrust panel, vowed Thursday to give a close look at the proposed American Airlines-US Airways merger, which could create the largest airline in the world. "As chair of the Senate Antitrust Subcommittee I plan to hold a hearing to thoroughly review the proposed merger and examine its impact on competition and consumers," she said of the deal. Klobuchar chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights.
