CSA farm directory is available

It must truly be spring! The Land Stewardship Project's 2017 Twin Cities, Minnesota and Western Wisconsin Region CSA Farm Directory is now available. It provides detailed information about 65 farms that deliver weekly shares of produce and more to locations in the region. Community-supported agriculture is an arrangement whereby consumers buy shares in a farming operation on an annual basis. In return, the farmers provide regular deliveries of sustainably raised food throughout the growing season (approximately June to October). The list is available free of charge at landstewardshipproject.org/stewardshipfood/csa.

Uff da, that's a juicy burger

Marketing is a curious animal. When does a pitch make sense? When is it a stretch? Success is in the eye of the beholder, we suppose, so here are a couple of offers to consider.

Home Chef meal kit delivery service is partnering with FX to promote the April 19 return of the Emmy Award-winning series "Fargo" with "specially curated recipes inspired by the show" for order. Participating customers also have a chance to receive an apron or oven mitt with the "Fargo" logo. So what three dishes conjure up a North Dakotan black comedy? Old School Baked Ziti, a Juicy Lucy burger (updated with smoked cheese) and Three Cheese Brown Butter Mac. No meatloaf? No scalloped potatoes? No grape salad? (Kidding.) First-time customers get $30 off their first order with the promo code FARGOFX. Visit homechef.com.

Be our guest — really

In a similar vein, Dole is attaching its line of fruits and vegetables to Disney with five recipes inspired by "Beauty and the Beast." For Belle, a Heart Salad made with avocado and pineapple pieces arranged in a heart shape; Lumiere the candle gets a cauliflower dish; Cogsworth the clock gets a blueberry-avocado salad; Mrs. Potts and Chip inspire banana and berry breakfast cups. As for the Beast? Well, how about Spicy Banana and Shrimp Crepes? There's some asparagus in there as well. Connection? Frankly, we're stumped. In any case, visit dole.com/Disney for recipes and details about winning a vacation in Orlando.
