GOPHERS MEN'S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY

Saturday: 2:30 p.m. at Nebraska • BTN, 100.3-FM

Gophers update: The Gophers (7-19, 1-15 Big Ten) take an 11-game losing streak into Lincoln, looking to avenge an earlier loss to Nebraska. The Cornhuskers won 81-79 in overtime Jan. 7 at Williams Arena in their first meeting this year. The following game, the Gophers bounced back with a 70-67 victory at Ohio State. They haven't been on the winning side since. A three-game road stretch this week started for Ben Johnson's team with losses at Illinois 78-69 Monday and at Maryland 88-70 Wednesday. Freshmen Pharrel Payne and Jaden Henley combined for 31 points against the Terrapins. Since his return from injury, Dawson Garcia has averaged 18.7 points in three games.

Cornhuskers update: The Cornhuskers (14-14, 7-10) have won four of their past five games, including three in a row after Sunday's 70-66 overtime victory vs. Maryland at home. Junior guard Keisei Tominaga averaged 23.6 points on 20-for-44 shooting from three-point range in his past five games. Derrick Walker, Sam Griesel and Juwan Gary combined for 57 points in the overtime win at Minnesota in January. But Gary has since been lost to season-ending shoulder surgery. The Cornhuskers haven't lost to the Gophers in Lincoln since 2012.
