Bass and even muskie anglers increasingly are hanging Power-Poles on the transoms of their boats. Long used by flats fishermen in Florida and elsewhere to anchor their boats quickly, Power-Poles are becoming increasingly popular in Minnesota as well. They can keep a boat stationary in 8 feet or less of water, even in relatively stiff winds. The consistent positions allow anglers sitting on known fish to cast thoroughly throughout an area, without concerns that their boats will move.
