Joseph M. Peschges, 63, former president of Hill-Murray School in Maplewood, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of indecent conduct in connection with an undercover sting operation at Crosby Farm Park in St. Paul.

On July 15, Peschges was cited after he touched a police officer on the groin area over the officer's clothes. Ramsey County District Judge Rosanne Nathanson ordered Peschges, of White Bear Lake, to perform 24 hours of community service, pay a $50 fine and complete a sex offender evaluation. If he remains law-abiding for a year, the charge will be dismissed.

Peschges was president of Hill-Murray, a Catholic school for grades 7-12, for 15 years. He resigned after the incident.
