A burglar broke into DFL gubernatorial candidate Matt Entenza's campaign headquarters overnight Wednesday and took several laptop computers and cameras.

There are no signs the break-in was campaign related, police said. The burglar apparently pried open the front door, grabbed the equipment and fled.

"These are, sadly, all too common occurrences," said St. Paul Police Sgt. Paul Schnell. "They were looking for the easy grab and go."

The burglar made off with several laptop computers, three cameras and a video recorder worth a total of $3,000, according to the report. Entenza's campaign office is at 1919 University Ave. W. in St. Paul.

Police have no suspects. They will check area pawn shops to see if the stolen equipment turns up.

"As a former prosecutor, nobody knows better than Matt Entenza that we need to be vigilant and rigorous in protecting our communities, and this is just another example of that," campaign spokesman Jeremy Drucker said in a statement.
