In this Q & A with Big Ten Network's Tom Dienhart, Rodney Williams says Elliott Eliason is the team's most underrated player.
Several weeks ago, I probably would have agreed with that.
But Eliason's production lately has been such that I'm not sure anyone is underestimating the redshirt freshman anymore.
And here's the beautiful thing about that: with Eliason now on scouting reports as a legitimate force, the forward is still finding real ways to produce and impress.
With the team suffering from inconsistency and a lack of rebounding, Eliason has been reliable on the boards, getting 18 in the Gophers' last four games. His aggressiveness and intensity in the paint is refreshing.
But if he's still underrated now, my guess is that next year he definitely won't be. I'm interested to see what another year of strengthening and the possibility of starting could do for him. It'll be fun to watch.
