Not since Joe Mauer's magic ear flap touching have we had such fun video "evidence" suggesting some chicanery during the grand old game. Submitted this time: Mariano Rivera sneaking a look around last night and then letting fly with a good wad of spit. The camera cuts away a split-second too early, but the general direction of the spit is the outstretched ball he's holding. Did he nail his target? Was it, to quote Seinfeld, "one magic loogie?" Our take: it's suspicious, though perhaps not as perplexing as Rivera's replacement, David Robertson, being lifted after 10 pitches and two outs to bring in another righty who blew the game. But anyhow, you be the judge on Rivera (and thanks to Stensation for passing the video along).
