The train of snowstorms will shift southward from the flood-ravaged northernPlains. Denver and the central Plains will instead bear the brunt of thestorms.The storm currently pushing through the Rockies today will not intensifyinto a major blizzard; however, it will spread wet snow from Denver to DodgeCity, Kan., this afternoon into Thursday morning. Roads will become slippery asa slushy 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulates. Bridges and overpasses would be thefirst to turn treacherous.

A more significant snowstorm threatens to target the Denver area on Saturday.

The potential even exists for the storm to strengthen into a dangerousblizzard. Weekend travel, both on the ground and in the air, would be severelydisrupted. The treacherous conditions may spread farther east into the centralPlains on Sunday.
