Deluxe Corp. said its second-quarter profit rose 12 percent, driven chiefly by growth in its financial services business.
The Shoreview company said it earned $56.1 million, or $1.11 a share, in the April-to-June period. Analysts had expected a profit of $1.06 a share.
Revenue was $435.9 million, up 7.5 percent from a year ago.
The company raised its outlook for the rest of the year, and its shares rose 4 percent.
"We continue to execute our transformation strategy and are pleased with the growth we see in our marketing solutions and other services product categories," Chief Executive Lee Schram said in a statement.
