A driver trying to make a U-turn on a central Minnesota highway rolled her SUV and was thrown to her death early Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 12:45 p.m. on Hwy. 210, east of the town of Tamarack in Aitkin County, according to the State Patrol.
The motorist, Nancy H. DeMun-Hayes, 32, of Hamburg, was not wearing her seat belt, the patrol said.
A 12-year-old boy in the SUV, Dradin J. Hayes, also of Hamburg, was not hurt. He also had no seat belt on, the patrol said.
"During the U-turn, the front passenger tire slipped into the ditch, and the Explorer rolled," read a statement from the patrol.
