This basketball season is far from over, but next season, with its significant conference changes, is already on the horizon.
The Big Ten released basketball matchups for 2014-15 on Friday, including the two newcomers to the now-14-team conference in Maryland and Rutgers.
The men will continue to play 18-game schedules — five teams home-and-away, four only at home and four only on the road. That format will also be adopted by the women, who are currently on a 16-game conference schedule.
The Gophers men's schedule breaks down this way (times and dates to be determined at a later date):
Home/away: Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin
Home only: Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers
Away only: Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State
The Gophers women's schedule:
Home/away: Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin
