Love on the run

"Love at First Flight" combines "The Amazing Race" with "Love Connection" by having a matchmaker bring two strangers together to see if a road trip will lead to matrimony. The courtships aren't nearly as nasty as what you're used to seeing on reality-based TV, which may dissuade viewers hoping to watch emotionally unstable couples bicker over the last vodka bottle in the hotel minibar.

Mr. Buzz Kill

Adam Conover, the human know-it-all from "Adam Ruins Everything," transforms himself into a cartoon know-it-all for six new episodes that start with a myth-busting history lesson on the Revolutionary War. Conover is much more tolerable as an animated figure, although by the sixth time he interrupts the proceedings, you may start pining for the appearance of a famished Wile E. Coyote.

Hailing HAL

Hard to believe it's been 50 years since the release of "2001: A Space Odyssey," arguably the most unlikely blockbuster ever. The vision created by Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke may have been off, but the movie was light years ahead of its time in terms of special effects and storytelling. It'll still blow your mind.
