Defending Class 2A champion Hill-Murray and Blake, which reached the Class 1A championship game last season, drew the top seeds for the girls' hockey state tournament next week at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The pairings and seeding of the top five teams in each class were announced Saturday by the Minnesota State High School League.

Class 2A quarterfinals, Thursday

Eastview (18-6-4) vs. #2 Edina (19-7-1), 11 a.m.

Forest Lake (18-7-3) vs. #3 Eden Prairie (19-7-2), 30 minutes after conclusion of 11 a.m. game

Sartell/Sauk Rapids (21-7) vs. #1 Hill-Murray (27-0-1), 6 p.m.

#5 Lakeville South (20-5-2) vs. #4 Maple Grove (20-5-2), 30 minutes after conclusion of 6 p.m. game

Class 1A quarterfinals, Wednesday

Northfield (19-9) vs. #2 Warroad (23-3-1), 11 a.m.

Alexandria (18-7-1) vs. #3 seed St. Paul United (21-5-1), 30 minutes after conclusion of the 11 a.m. game.

Luverne (20-6) vs. #1 Blake (23-2-2), 6 p.m.

#5 New Prague (17-9-1) vs. #4 Proctor/Hermantown (19-7-1), 30 minutes after conclusion of 6 p.m. game.

Semifinal games are Friday in both classes. The 1A championship is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday. The 2A title game starts at 7 p.m.
