Heavy snow started falling across the Twin Cities mid-afternoon Sunday, a couple hours later than expected. Snow was expected early afternoon but didn't start falling until after 3 p.m. With snow in the forecast, the Twins postponed their game with the Seattle Mariners at Target Field Sunday afternoon. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for an inch of snow in the afternoon for the Twin Cities, then less than an inch in the evening as the temperature tries to creep out of the subfreezing realm. To the south and west of the immediate metro area, snow accumulation could be slightly higher, according to the NWS.If you're ready for spring, things are looking up. The Weather Service is predicting back-to-back highs in the 50s for the Twin Cities come Wednesday and Thursday. But that's still a few degrees below average for those dates.
