Lonnie McQuirter, who owns the BP 36 Lyn Refuel Station on Lyndale Avenue South, tended to the convenience store and disinfected the gas pumps and other frequently touched surfaces Friday, May 22, 2020 in south Minneapolis. Twin Cities drivers are noticing hugely divergent gas prices around the area with some stations charging about 99 cents a gallon while other stations charge $1.99. McQuiter's station is a rare example of below market prices in the city instead of in the suburbs.
