The Gophers will play six of their first seven games at home in 2014, including all four non-conference games, after agreeing to postpone its scheduled trip to Miami (Ohio) until 2016.
Minnesota has replaced that Sept. 6, 2014 game with a home game against Middle Tennessee State, the university announced Tuesday, giving the Gophers eight games at TCF Bank Stadium that year.
Miami, which visited Minneapolis last September and lost to the Gophers 29-23, was due a return trip to Oxford, Ohio, but asked Minnesota to put the game off for two more years. The Gophers had a vacancy remaining in their 2016 non-conference schedule anyway, so the switch was made.
Middle Tennessee State will be making two visits to TCF Bank Stadium; a 2017 game had previously been schedule.
