The same basic elements that birthed a major storm over the southern Plains atthe end of last week will spawn another in about the same area during themiddle of this week. Right now, it appears that Texas is really going to getsoaked Wednesday. Unlike the last storm, however, any snow or ice across thesouthern Plains will be very limited due to a lack of cold air over theregion.This storm will slide through the Gulf states Thursday then impact the easternpart of the country Friday and Saturday. Here, the system will encounter colderair, and the rain that moves up from the south will turn to snow.

Could this be another big winter storm for the mid-Atlantic region? We thinkso, and it might be advantageous to stock up early.
