A St. Paul woman was charged Friday with fatally stabbing another woman in a downtown Minneapolis parking ramp, and a Bloomington man was charged with giving her the knife.
Ivory May Andis, 21, and Tylor James Jorgensen, 22, were both charged with second-degree murder in the death early Thursday of 44-year-old Dargenella Wade, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Friday.
Wade was found bleeding from multiple stab wounds shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday inside the transit hub of the city's Ramp A. She died soon after being transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Andis was booked later Thursday, alongside two men for aiding and abetting.
According to the criminal complaint:
The two women had been fighting earlier in the morning, and the altercation escalated when Wade sprayed mace on Andis and her boyfriend. When Wade left for the transit station, a witness saw Andis break a bottle. But Jorgensen then gave her a knife.
Andis continued to the transit station where she fatally stabbed Wade, police said. Jorgensen and Andis are expected to make their first court appearances Monday.
The transit hub sits next to Target Center and near Target Field in the Warehouse District of downtown and serves motorists seeking parking places and municipal buses. It's also near the easternmost point for the light-rail lines.
