Two cosmetology practitioners were fined and told to improve their sanitary practices, according to orders issued by the Board of Cosmetologist Examiners in May. Bloomington manicurist and esthetician Keven Doan , who does business as NK Spa Nails, was cited in December for 12 sanitation violations, including reuse of porous materials such as files, buffers and toe dividers. Tools were improperly stored, and a pedicure tub wasn't clean, the board said. An inspection in February showed little improvement. Doan was fined $1,500. Kellie Tadych, of Stacy, Minn. , who is a salon manager for Salon 2000, Inc., was cited in June 2009 and in December 2010 for failing to ensure tools were cleaned, sanitized and stored properly. She was fined $200. Read Keven Doan's order here. Read Kellie Tadych's order here.
