What's the world record for the shortest news conference, in sports or not? Lane Kiffin is in the running after his news conference clocked in at 28 seconds after practice before saying, "I gotta go," and walking away from the standup. The Bloomington Jefferson grad, son of Monte Kiffin and USC coach has been battling with the Southern California media, which led him to ban a Los Angeles Daily News writer for reporting that a Trojan kicker had had surgery. Kiffin has sought to keep reporters from sharing news about injuries that they see in practice. On Wednesday, he was apparently asked about a hurt player's return to practice. (And that player hasn't been named and the question was muted on the video to avoid a repeat of the Daily News situation, which is why you can't hear it.)
