• Norwegian striker Ada Hegerberg, who plays for Lyon in France, was named the first winner of the women's Ballon D'Or award, given to the top player in the world. On the men's side, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric took home the trophy, the first time in a decade it hasn't gone to Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. The ceremony caused some controversy after a French TV presenter asked Hegerberg if she could "twerk," a question that somehow was not asked of anyone on the men's side.

• The Copa Libertadores saga finally will come to an end Sunday as Boca Juniors and River Plate meet in Madrid to play the second leg of the final. It's 2-2 after the first leg, but River Plate has lost its home advantage for the second leg. Just 5,000 of the tickets were allocated to what's technically the "home" team, with the same number going to Boca fans. About 40,000 tickets are being sold to expatriate Boca and River fans, while a shocking 22,000 were distributed by CONMEBOL, the tournament's organizer.
