My colleague James Eli Shiffer writes: An Idaho-based insulation company has fired a "rogue" sales rep after he reportedly misled consumers about his ability to get rapid rebates for energy-saving improvements. On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Commerce warned that Rocky Mountain Insulation reps were going door-to-door in Eagan with bogus claims of being affiliated with the local gas company, Minnesota Energy Resources. The gas company offers rebates if homeowners install insulation, and customers were asked to sign over the rebates to Rocky Mountain Insulation, something that's not allowed. Matt Jolley, an owner of Rocky Mountain Insulation, said the company fired the salesman as soon as it found out what he was doing. "We run a good business," he said.
