Minnesotans will be able to shoot off large fireworks even when they are drinking under a bill passed 77-50 in the House on Monday. Rep. Joe Atkins (DFL-Inver Grove Heights) made that point when he offered an amendment making it illegal to be under the influence when setting off fireworks of one pound or more. After legislators from both parties argued against it, Atkins withdrew his amendment saying his point had been made.
