A dental assistant surrendered her license this month after state regulators discovered she illegally worked five years with a suspended license, according to the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Peggy L. Orman, who was suspended in 2003 after regulators discovered she had an outstanding tax debt, was able to return to work in 2005 after she duped her employer about her licensing status by submitting the first of five falsified letters. The fake letters, which appeared to come from the Revenue Department, claimed Orman had been granted a conditional license because she was making progress in paying her tax debt. Orman's license was terminated and she agreed to pay a $1,000 fine. She may reapply after a year. Read the full stipulation and order here.
