The mother of Philando Castile, the man killed last week by police during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights, will announce funeral plans for her son Tuesday.

As Valerie Castile reveals the details of her son's burial during a late-morning gathering outside the State Capitol, she'll be joined by Glenda Hatchett, who has been hired to represent the family in civil matters surrounding Castile's death.

Hatchett starred for eight years until 2008 on the "Judge Hatchett" TV court show. She previously served as a judge in Fulton County, Ga. She also has appeared on CNN and other news outlets as a guest commentator and legal analyst.

"Valerie Castile and her family are very passionate and committed to ensuring that Philando's death is not just another statistic," Hatchett said in a statement Monday. "She wants her son's death to mark a time in this country's history where reform becomes less about rhetoric and more about reality."
