Good art deserves a good soundtrack, and no one does that combination better than the crew at CO Exhibitions. The northeast Minneapolis gallery, backed by the poster czars at Burlesque of North America, throws a rocking opening-night reception. The warehouse space's looming white walls were made to display the out-of-the-box work of artists like Michael Gaughan and Frank Gaard. But they've also contained the sounds of local luminaries like Doomtree and Dosh (who performed in April for the one-night National Poster Retrospecticus). And then there was Cinco de Mayhem, which was dubbed "A celebration and annihilation of piñatas designed by Twin Cities artists." Obviously, artsy piñatas should only be destroyed at night. 1101 Stinson Blvd. NE., Suite No. 2, Mpls.; 612-379-4151, coexhibitions.com
