It's pretty rare for Italian films to win U.S. distribution these days. So grazie mille for the Italian Cultural Center of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Its six-year-old film program celebrates classic works from Bertolucci, Antonioni and Visconti, alongside a lineup of notable current releases each March. Each season is loosely organized around a theme devoted to Italian society. Where else can you see a sexy biography of the artist Caravaggio, a Mafia tragicomedy, a "Sixth Sense" supernatural drama about the limits of charity, and a documentary about restoring Giuseppe Verdi's villa? The festival is negotiating the details of its 2014 location; stay tuned for details. theitalianculturalcenter.org
