WASHINGTON -- Minnesota politicians just can't stay away from Havana.

Democratic Sen. Al Franken plans a federally-sponsored trip to Cuba this weekend with Democratic Sen. Tom Udall and Reps. Raul Grijalva, from Arizona, and John Larson, of Connecticut.

According to Franken's office, the four will meet with Cuban and State Department officials and local business owners to "discuss ways the United States can further open relations with Cuba through trade and tourism."

Franken is the third Minnesota lawmaker who will have traveled to Cuba since President Barack Obama announced a normalization of relations with the island in December.

Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson visited the country earlier this year, along with some of Minnesota's agricultural interests. Sen. Amy Klobuchar also visited in February.
