Notre Dame, rated No. 2 by United States College Hockey Online, and No. 17 Penn State tied 2-2 on Saturday afternoon in Big Ten hockey. Although the game will officially count as a draw, the visiting Irish won a three-round shootout 1-0 on a goal by senior defenseman Jordan Gross of Maple Grove.

Notre Dame took a 2-1 lead after the opening period on goals by Cal Burke and Dylan Malmquist, a junior forward from Edina, in the first 8½ minutes. Andrew Sturtz and Liam Folkes scored for the Nittany Lions.

Cale Morris had 55 saves for Notre Dame, Peyton Jones 32 for Penn State.

Michigan State 6, No. 5 Ohio State 3: David Keefer and Carson Gatt scored three minutes apart in the middle of the second period to put the visiting Spartans ahead 5-1.

No. 18 Wisconsin 4, No. 20 Michigan 2: Trent Frederic had a goal and two assists to lead the visiting Badgers.

No. 4 Denver 4, No. 9 Minnesota Duluth 3: Dylan Gambrell's goal midway through the third period broke a 3-all tie as the Pioneers swept the visiting Bulldogs.

No. 6 St. Cloud State 6, No. 13 Omaha 2: Mikey Eyssimont had a goal and two assists to spark the host Huskies.

Lake Superior State 2, Bemidji State 0: The host Beavers were shut out by the same score for the second night in a row. Mareks Mitens made 36 saves for the shutout.

No. 7 MSU Mankato 4, Alaska Anchorage 3: Zeb Knutson, who had two goals the game before, scored the eventual winner for the host Mavericks in the series finale at 5:38 of the second period.
