If you own a bicycle from Salsa Cycles, don't wait until spring to see whether the handlebar holds up. The Bloomington company, a subsidiary of Quality Bicycle Products, recalled about 6,500 handlebar stems that can crack or break.
The stems were used on the Ala Carte, El Mariachi, Casseroll Triple, Casseroll Single and La Cruz models sold after November 2007. CroMoto S.U.L. Quill and CroMoto S.U.L. Threadless stems sold separately after March 2008 are also part of the recall. The stems were sold online and at bicycle shops around the nation.

Bicycle owners can contact a local bicycle retailer for an inspection and free replacement. For more information, call Quality Bicycle Products at 1-877-774-6208 or click here.
